Secure bicycle parking

Property & Campus Services would like to announce the next generation in bicycle parking facilities at the University of Melbourne Parkville campus.  The newly implemented bicycle hubs will offer unprecedented security for bicycle users in and around the Parkville campus.

Each hub will feature a series of enclosed bicycle hoops, CCTV and access control providing additional protection and peace of mind for bicycle users.

Secure bicycle hubs are available to all current University staff and students, to apply see the links below.

A $20 non-refundable annual fee is payable at the time of application, by applying you will become a registered user and secure your place in the hub of your choice.

Secure bicycle parking is a great way to secure your bicycle and by signing up you will automatically receive regular updates on new facilities, events and opportunities such as free breakfast and bike engraving/registration days.

It is strongly recommended that you secure your bike with a good quality D lock.  The above photo shows how to best lock your bike – with a D lock through the A frame, as detailed on this website.  Cable type locks in the majority of cases are easily and quickly cut with bolt cutters.
